Our Story
Ortega's Sports World - A Century of Tradition in Douglas, Arizona
For almost 100 years, Ortega's Sports World has been a cornerstone of the Douglas, Arizona community, proudly serving local schools, athletic programs, and residents with quality sports apparel, uniforms, and custom embroidery.
Founded in the early 1920s, the Ortega family began with a small local shop dedicated to providing the best sporting goods and team equipment to the growing border community. Over the decades, the business evolved with the times-adding embroidery, screen printing, and custom design services to meet the unique needs of schools, teams, and businesses across southern Arizona.
Through generations of family ownership, Ortega's Sports World has remained committed to personal service, community pride, and craftsmanship. The Ortega name has become synonymous with local sports culture, outfitting everyone from youth leagues to varsity teams, and celebrating the hardworking athletes who represent Douglas with pride.
Today, Ortega's Sports World would have celebrated 100-year anniversary, but due to changing times it closed along with other Ortega stores. In 2023 Joshua Ortega and his wife Julie Ortega revamped and brought back the company called now, Ortega's embroidery and Co a as the new owners with their new vision to keep up in today's textile industry we promise to ensure customer satisfaction with the best quality.
